Miami in the winter

So I still have to run my AC in my car during the middle of the day, but other than that it's gorgeous here. Come find out for yourself :)

THE HOLIDAYS

So it's that time of year, and the song "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" runs through my head every so often. I'll sing a Christmas song around school and all the kids look at me funny, I enjoy it. I'm in the process of trying to find a really really cheap Christmas tree for me and Rob's house. I'm staying in town for Thanksgiving, My coordinator and his wife were nice enough to invite us to eat with them. This will be my first Thanksgiving away from home so it will be a tad bit sad, but hopefully the Cowboy game will cheer me up some. I am headed home for about a week for Christmas to see the fam and friends. It'll be interesting to have some cold weather for once! Haha.

FALL FESTIVAL/VBS

This halloween we put on a 'Fall Festival' for the kids in the neighborhoods we've been trying to reach through our VBS. We put on a little play for them, had lots of games and prizes. Oh and candy, of course! Lots of candy (Sorry parents!). Our VBS is still going strong. We're headed back out this Saturday! The 21st of November We're having a 'Turkey Drive'. We'll be giving away a turkey and all the fixins to our VBS families to show our appreciation.

MINISTRY TIDBITS

This past Sunday we baptized a good friend of ours named Omar. We had been studying with him over time and he made the decision he was going to give his life to Christ. Now we're going to set up a weekly time we can get together with him and further his knowledge and understand of the Word. Today after school going to begin studying the book of 1st John. Our goal is for him to understand this fellowship with the Lord and that we need to continue to walk in the light. Our 'curriculum' for our new converts is the book of 1st John. There's still a few guys here me and Rob and studying with and trying to let them know that we all need Jesus :)

PRAYERS

Continue to keep the Casey's family and her brother. Our other teammate Sommer. Her grandmother passed recently. Rob's support is coming along well so much thanks for the prayers! Also continue to pray for the work here in South Florida and those trying to serve the Lord.
